 Sailendra
            Bhaskar, 45, is Vice President, Aban Informatics Ltd, a Chennai,
            India based company specializing in 'Technology-enhanced learning
            and teaching' for Secondary and Tertiary schooling.  He
            and his team at Aban have been working in this domain for over 4
            years and have so far clocked over 80 man years of work in setting
            up India's first e-learning solution focused on enhancing the teaching
            and learning experience.  Mr.
            Bhaskar is a passionate advocate of the use of technology in teaching
            and learning and firmly believes that in a world where the numbers
            of teachers are dwindling while the numbers of learners are increasing,
            the world and developing countries in particular, will have to embrace
            technology to improve the quality of curriculum delivery.  Mr.
            Bhaskar's interest in the use of technology in education was kindled
            when he was commissioned by the State Planning Commission of the
            Indian State of Kerala to study the school system of the State and
            suggest ways to minimise the differences between performance of rural
            and urban students (also known as the 'urban-rural student performance
            divide').  Mr.
            Bhaskar has been in the field of Information Technology for over
            15 years and has designed and developed IT solutions for major corporations
            in various parts of the world.  He
            has traveled and worked in every continent.  He
            is a Sir Dorabji Tata Fellow from the Indian Agricultural Research
            Institute, New Delhi, from where he has a Masters Degree in Agricultural
            Biotechnology.  |
