Rogério de Paula trabalha como pesquisador em etnografia para a Intel Semicondutores do Brasil no grupo de plataformas para mercador emergentes. A sua pesquisa atual investiga o desenvolvimento de tecnologias para a educação que focam em construção de conhecimento e colaboração. Também investiga as implicações tanto sociais quanto culturais da introdução destas tecnologias nas salas de aula. As suas áreas de pesquisa são: estudos sociais de tecnologia, sistemas colaborativos para educação, interação humano-computador e design. Antes de começar a trabalhar para a Intel em meados de 2005, Rogério terminou o seu pós-doutorado na Universidade da California em Irvine, aonde trabalhou num projeto de pesquisa que investigava o relacionamento entre privacidade e segurança, enquanto uma questão social e cultural. Rogério é doutor em ciências da computação e mestrado em telecomunicações da Universidade do Colorado em Boulder, e bacharel em engenharia elétrica pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, Brazil.


Rogério de Paula is an Ethnographic Researcher at Intel Corporation working for the Emerging Markets Platforms Group in Brazil. His current research investigates the design of computer technologies in education as tools for supporting knowledge construction and collaboration. He also investigates the social and cultural implications of the introduction of these technologies in the classrooms. His primary research interests are in the areas of Social Studies of Technology, Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning, Human-Computer Interaction, and Design. Before joining Intel in mid-2005, Rogério carried out his Post-Doc at University of California Irvine, where he was involved in a multi-year research project that investigated the relationship between privacy and security as socio-cultural concerns. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and M.S. in Telecommunications from University of Colorado, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil.
