Effective talent management requires a consistent, reliable and systematic approach to measurement of employee skills, knowledge and attitudes. This presentation will outline the context for assessment strategy and examine the obstacles to planning and executing an effective, efficient assessment program. Participants will be introduced to a model for understanding the elements and specific measures of an assessment program, the roles of various stakeholders, and the characteristics of different phases of assessment maturity. The result of a collaborative initiative involving dozens of learning, assessment and technology professionals, this “Assessment Maturity Model” describes the elements and framework that can help organizations progress from “ad hoc” assessments that are disconnected from business goals to the use of optimized assessments that help detect weaknesses, eliminate repetitious mistakes, and provide ongoing, proactive evaluation of corporate processes.
